Our barn in located between Highway A 1 and Highway A 29 in Grossenkneten, a town in Northern Germany. The convenient traffic situation allows us to get to the Airport Bremen in 30 minutes. The drive to the Oldenburg auction centre of Vechta takes 30 minutes and to the Hanoverian auction centre 45 minutes.

The farm Biohof Bakenhus is surrounded by 200 hectares of own farm - and pasture land and natural preserved Forrest. On the sandy soil we always have the chance to ride our horses no matter what kind of weather it is. The long sandy roads, surrounding the farm opens the opportunity to work the horses to build up their condition.

For the daily training we have a big jumper field ( 80 meter by 80 meter) an indoor ring (20 meter by 45 meter) and 35 stalls. For relaxation our horses have nice fenced in turn outs and grass pastures. For the well being of our horse Manuel Schürmann, Roland Lemken and Ingeborg Siebmann sign responsible and take good care of them once we are on the road.

The original farm was build in the 1970 ties by a member of the famous Schockemöhle family as an agricultural commercial farm. In the 1990 ties the farm got sold to a company which produces drinking water. The entire area called the Wildeshauser Geest, is the reservoir for the drinking water for the North German district. Since than the farm changed from former commercial into organic and biologically farming.

Cattle, a few hundred head of "Black Angus", and picks are raised here. More or less the Company also tries to educate in clinics farmers from all over Northern Germany, school kids from all the school and people from overseas. Here they can learn how important it is to take care of mother nature and to make sure that polluting the environment isn't good for future generations.

For our youngster the family of Uwe Meyer signs responsible. The foals, yearlings and two year old horses have solid stalls with the option to be turned out on the sandy soil. Pastures, fenced in with wood and rubber make sure that none of them gets hurt.

Since Uwe works in a horse feed company he makes sure that our youngsters get everything necessary for their growing process. To stabilize their tendons, bone structure and joints they get all they need. Since they grow up in groups of 6- 8 youngsters, they teach themselves how to behave so we won't have any problems in handling them once they get into our training

For our mares Ilona's sister Kerstin signs responsible. She and Ilona already bred the international jumper mare Fiala, ridden by Otto Becker. Kerstin has the feeling for the mares and their needs and concerns. The stalls, big enough to be turned into foaling stalls, safe fenced in pastures and nice sand paddocks makes it a very nice "kinder garden".

Kerstin dedicated her life also to the horses and everything what has to be done, will be done to please the horses and their needs.

During the Young riders Cup finals in Vechta 2004 Janine Döring followed the footsteps of her idle Ilona and received the Champion ribbon. She rode the 7-year old gelding "Eddy", which we purchased as a foal and the 7-year old mare Gladdies Glimmereito the champion title.
